Project Summary: In order to acquire wireless communication infrastructures of Intelligent Transportation Systems with local and national means, which are in very limited use in the world and have not been installed in our country yet, basic V2X (Vehicle to Everything) communication protocol layers will be developed taking into account the platform needs on which they will be used. Within the scope of the project, On Board Units (OBU) and Road Side Units (RSU) will be developed in accordance with the V2X standard called DSRC (Dedicated Short-Range Communication) which is defined by IEEE 802.11p, for inter-vehicle and vehicle-infrastructure communication within the scope of Intelligent Transportation Systems. In these developments, the TRL level of the project will be increased with application on the modem, by using innovative age-aware communication and secure communication technologies, which have already been developed in other research groups of the platform.

DSRC technology, which is the basic technology planned to be used within the scope of Intelligent Transportation Systems; is planned to be used in Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V), Vehicle to Infrastructure (V2I) and Vehicle to Grid (V2G) communications, which are the sub-technologies of V2X. Basic communication protocol layers of OBU and RSU, which are the main products of the project outputs, will be researched in accordance with the ETSI ITS (European Telecommunication standards Institute - Intelligent Transport Systems ) standards and software development will be carried out accordingly.
